An unlabeled or unexpected peptide vial just showed up. Don't inject it yet.

An unlabeled vial you cannot trace is a vial you cannot verify. That is the whole problem, and the community has no standard answer for it.

It shows up more than people admit. A vendor drops a free "bonus" vial in the box. An order arrives with a compound you did not buy. A lot number is smudged, or the vial is blank glass with a rubber stopper and nothing else. You are now holding something you are expected to inject, with no way to know what is in it.

Don't infer anything from how it looks

The powder tells you almost nothing. Amount of powder is not amount of peptide: a 60 mg vial holds the same visible powder as a 10 mg vial, so you cannot eyeball the dose. Whether it is a solid puck, a cracked puck, or loose dust is also normal and irrelevant. None of it is a quality signal.

Color is the one exception, and only in one direction. GHK-Cu is always blue. If a vial sold as GHK-Cu is white, it is a different compound. That is the rare case where looking at the vial actually catches a substitution.

The failure mode that matters is "wrong compound"

Fill volume varies (a vial labeled 10 mg often holds 12), and that barely moves a daily dose. Heavy metals and endotoxins are uncommon. The failure that actually hurts you is getting a different substance than the label claims.

What you can verify, in order

  1. Match it against your order and any COA you were sent. The lot number and the cap color have to match the report. Check the "client" field on the COA too: it should name the vendor you actually bought from, not a stranger. A COA for a different batch is history, not proof.
  2. If there is no label and no lot number, there is nothing to match a COA against. Verification is off the table by design. Treat that as the answer, not a puzzle to solve.
  3. Reconstitute and look before you ever dose. Clear like water is fine. Haze, floaties, or powder that will not dissolve means discard.

If a vendor ships you something you did not order, "return to sender" is not a real option. The leverage you have is your next order, not this one.

An unexpected or unlabeled vial is a decision about trust, not chemistry. You cannot test your way out of every one, and you cannot inject your way past a blank label. If you cannot trace what is in the vial, the safe move is to not use it, and to take it up with a clinician before it goes anywhere near you.
