Your "USA-made" peptide was made in China
Close to all retail peptides are manufactured in China. The "USA-made" badge on a vendor page is almost always marketing, and the supply chain data says so plainly.
The number behind the badge
US customs recorded $328m in peptide and hormone compound imports from China in the first three quarters of 2025, roughly double the $164m in the same window a year earlier. This is not a niche flow. Around 70% of China's peptide manufacturing sits in Guangdong, with the named large producers running cGMP facilities at industrial scale. That is where the molecule in your vial almost certainly came from, whatever the label on the box says.
Same molecule, different label
The vial sold by a Polish "registered EU vendor," a UK research-chems site, and a US retailer is often sourced from the same handful of upstream Chinese producers. There is no premium peptide producer at the molecule layer, only marketing stacked on top of the same compound.
The pricing gives it away. Factory-direct on a common research peptide runs $5 to $15 a vial. The branded reseller charges $40 to $80 for the identical molecule. That markup does not buy you a better peptide. It buys the reseller's operating costs and risk.
The two real exceptions
Two compounds have a genuine domestic route, and both run through a prescription:
- Sermorelin, readily US-compounded with an Rx.
- Tesamorelin, FDA-approved for HIV-associated lipodystrophy and priced like it, around $14,000 for 2mg at retail without insurance.
A compounding pharmacy adds a quality-control layer on top of the raw material. It does not change where that raw material was made. "Compounded in the USA" and "manufactured in the USA" are different claims, and vendors blur them on purpose.
Why "domestic" is the tell
When a vendor makes "made in the USA" the centerpiece of the pitch, read it as China supply wearing a US label. The origin question is mostly settled before you ask it. What is not settled, and what actually protects you, is verification:

Origin is not the differentiator. Verification and operational durability are. A vendor that sources from the major producers and re-warehouses cleanly is selling a fine molecule. The real question is whether they will still be around, and still testing, in 12 months.
